Goals of the workshop:

Developing a novel toxicity test platform based on embryonic stem cells (ESCs), in particular human ESC (hESCs)

Outcome objective: An expert report to be published in a peer-reviewed journal.

Background:

ESNATS: Embryonic Stem cell-based Novel Alternative Testing Strategies

ESNATS: total budget of 15.5 M€ and a funding support of 11.9 M€ for 5 years from the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) for Research and Technology Development

Aim of the workshop: Strategic evaluation of promising test methods. Choice of relevant endpoints and feasable readouts. Harmonization of modi operandi.
