This course will provide theoretical and practical training on flow cytometry and fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS). The lecture outlines principles of flow cytometry, the  properties of fluorophors and applications of flow cytometry. The BD aquisition Software FACSDiva^TM as well as the analyzer FACSVerse and the sorter FACSAria will be introduced. Laboratory sessions will adress sample preparation, Instrument construction and Operation and data collection of common flow cytometry assays.
