HiWi_details

• Task: Hiwi will curate drone videos of animals based on research questions. This involves watching a lot of videos and making behavioural notes. Furthermore, Hiwi will also annotate video frames to create training data for computer vision models.
• Requirements: Interests in any of the following disciplines: collective behaviour, biological or computational physics, mathematical biology, movement ecology, animal behaviour, behavioural ecology, and wildlife science. A preliminary understanding of Collective behaviour models, Python programming and computer vision, would be beneficial but not mandatory.
• When: The position can be flexibly started in August or September 2024 for an initial period of 3 months with the possibility of extension.
• Scope: 40 h/month

 The position can entail co-authoring papers out of the project if the Hiwi contributes significantly. The project could also be continued as a Bachelor's or Master's thesis.
