HiWi_details

• Task: I’m looking for a hiwi/intern that will join me as a research assistant at the Development and Evolution of Cognition research group at the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behaviour. The student will be tasked with coding videos of cognitive experiments with zoo-housed orangutans and chimpanzees. This includes coding with the video coding software BORIS, data extraction, and eventually basic analysis (inter observer reliability).
• Hours: Up to 20 weekly working hours, at least partly at the MPI office at Bücklestraße 5
• Requirements: Master or Bachelor student in Biology, Psychology or related fields. I’m looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and highly focused person. The work can be repetitive and demands focused attention to detail over long periods of time. The student should show interest in cognition and evolutionary processes and desire to work in an international team. Previous experience with video coding or field work is advantageous, but not necessary. Experience with R is desired, good spoken and written English is necessary.
